Residential Services

Here at Williams Refrigeration, we know that it's sometimes difficult to find a high-quality residential or small-scale commercial refrigeration contractor. Unfortunately, we must confess that we cannot be of much direct help in this regard, as our business focuses entirely on large-scale commercial/governmental work; moreover, we don't recommend any specific firms for this type of work.

Nonetheless, we can provide you with a few tips in picking someone who can address your needs:

  1. Sometimes the “old ways” are still “good ways”—and in this sense, the Yellow Pages can actually be a good resource. One can often get a good idea from contractors’ Yellow Page ads what type of work they do. Word-of-mouth is often good, too; if friends or family have found a specific firm to meet their requirements, they may be worth considering.
  2. Just as firms like Williams specialise in large-scale refrigeration, there are other firms that specialise in things like smaller-scale commercial and residential work; sometimes this can be an advantage over a firm that doesn’t focus on a specific area of our trade.
  3. Always ask about the depth of a contractor’s experience, and don't be afraid to ask for references. Any reputable firm will understand that you want to be cautious, and will be more than willing to provide references you can contact to verify the quality of their work.
  4. A focus on safety is often an excellent marker of a company’s quality. Although we’re in a somewhat different segment of our trade than residential/small-scale commercial work, a browse through our website can probably give you a good idea of what to look for in terms of workplace safety.
  5. Last, but certainly not least, “follow your gut.” More often than not, a bad impression—even if you can’t back it up with anything tangible at the moment—is an indication you should be very cautious.
